The Creator’s Calendar is designed to keep creative opportunities in front of you in a way that best fits your lifestyle to help you win contests, have your work published, or speak at a national conference. It is an interactive tool designed for writers and creatives to plan projects, publish dreams, and win contests.
Why create this digital tool for creatives?
Jozef Syndicate’s Creator’s Calendar began with a simple observation: Creatives were spending too much time searching for opportunities and not enough time creating.
That original idea has continued to evolve since 2022. We’re still doing the searching. We’re still curating opportunities. And we’re still focused on helping creatives get dreams published.
We listened when our writers, illustrators, and poets said they needed a way to keep track of opportunities and contests without logging in to hundreds of websites or receiving another hundred emails. We are excited to meet this need for you and our circle of creators.
We believe your creative work shouldn’t live on your hard drive. You have the story. The poem. The manuscript. The illustration. The personal essay. The art you’ve been working on for months. But finding the right place to send it can be almost as time-consuming as creating it.
No longer will your short stories, flash fiction, novels, art, poetry, illustrations, children’s stories, or personal narratives sit on your hard drive…waiting, waiting, waiting to be published.
A good opportunity list doesn’t happen by accident. We spend the time searching, researching, sorting, and curating opportunities so you don’t have to spend your hours doing it.
That’s the work behind the calendar. We look for opportunities relevant to creatives, organize the information, and bring it together in one place. You get the curated information. We continue doing the research.

FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Creator’s Calendar? The Creator’s Calendar is a curated database of creative opportunities that you can customize to organize and track your submissions and creative goals without multiple apps or logins.
Who is this calendar for? Writers, poets, artists, illustrators, and other creatives looking for contests, calls for submissions, fellowships, grants, retreats, festivals, conferences, and other creative opportunities.
Is this an app? No. The Creator’s Calendar is a downloadable digital database available in Excel and CSV formats. In 2027, we will release an interactive calendar to link within your Google Calendar. (We are all app’d out.)
Why is this different? There are apps for everything. Apps with monthly subscriptions. Apps that require another account. Apps with so many features that organizing your creative work becomes another project. The Creator’s Calendar takes a different approach. It’s a traditional database customized for creative work. You can sort it. Adjust it. Add your own information. Track your submissions. Keep notes. Follow your progress. Make it work the way you work. Best of all it is private and not connected to your private interests or another algorithm.
Is there a monthly subscription? No. Opportunities to add new listings will be shared quarterly for you to select at your pace.
Can I customize it? Absolutely. The database is designed to be sorted and customized for your own creative workflow. Your file remains with you so your customization is not shared on a cloud or within an app.
What’s the difference between Excel and CSV? Excel gives you a spreadsheet format you can work with directly. CSV is a flexible data format that can be saved, imported, and used with other programs. Both files will open using Sheets or Numbers.
